Ride1Up Electric Bikes That’ll Put a Smile on Your Face

Electric bikes are a joy to ride, and the Ride1Up Roadster V2 captures that feeling perfectly. Sleek and understated, it delivers an engaging pedal-assist experience that’s hard to beat for city cruising and longer weekend rides.

At first glance the Roadster V2 looks like a classic single-speed road bike. But its slim frame hides an integrated battery and electronics that deliver smooth pedal assistance up to 24 miles per hour, giving you the speed of an e-bike without the bulky look.

I included the Roadster V2 on our Stuff We Love list because it blends classic bicycle style with practical electric power and everyday usability.

Class 3 Performance

Unlike small electric motorcycles that rely on a throttle, the Roadster V2 emphasizes an authentic bicycle feel through pedal-assist. It’s a Class 3 e-bike with a 350 W geared hub motor that produces around 40 Nm of torque. That’s enough to reach a top assisted speed of 24 mph—quick enough to be fun but still easy to control.

The system offers five pedal-assist levels, so you can choose how much help you want with each ride—from a light boost for exercise to stronger assistance for commuting or hilly routes.

Styling and Comfort

The Roadster V2 uses traditional bicycle geometry with a straight top tube, making it compatible with standard racks and familiar to anyone who rides road or urban bikes. The 6061 aluminum frame keeps weight down while providing a stiff, responsive ride.

One of the nicest traits is how discreet the electric components are—the battery is well integrated so the bike doesn’t look overtly electric. That cleaner appearance reduces attention from potential thieves and keeps the aesthetic classic.

Range and Practical Use

Range is always a consideration with battery-powered bikes, but the Roadster V2 manages it well. Ride1Up rates the bike for roughly 20–30 miles per charge depending on rider weight, terrain, incline, and the assist level. In my experience, riding at the highest assist level, I’ve completed 25+ mile outings with battery remaining.

For short errands or commutes I often don’t recharge after every ride because the battery hardly moves. And if you do run out of charge, the Roadster V2 still pedals like a regular bike, so you’re never left stranded.

Gravel Edition

The Roadster V2 comes in two frame sizes (52 cm and 58 cm) and multiple colors. Ride1Up recently launched a Gravel Edition that adds lower gearing, a Gates carbon belt drive, Tektro disc brakes, and WTB gravel tires—features aimed at riders who want to take the bike off paved roads.

Pre-orders for the Gravel Edition are available now. We’ve seen guests notice the Roadster in our garage, try it out, and buy one shortly after—they appreciate the bike’s combination of style, practicality, and fun.

Sharing standout products with friends is always satisfying—especially when it leads to more rides, smiles, and memorable outings.
