Greenworks Tools Media Summit 2026: Innovations in Outdoor Power

Greenworks Tools is aiming to lead the cordless outdoor power equipment market with a range of battery platforms tailored to different types of users.

Last week I visited Greenworks Tools’ headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina — conveniently located near Lowe’s headquarters. That proximity makes sense: Lowe’s is Greenworks’ largest retail partner, and some Greenworks items are sold exclusively through Lowe’s.

The focus of my visit was Greenworks’ 60-volt platform — its improvement and expansion.

Over the past year I’ve tested several 60‑volt tools: the lawn mower, blower, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, pole saw, and electric pressure washer. Together, this lineup helped bring my neglected backyard back under control.

From 15-foot hedges to a scruffy lawn, Greenworks’ tools restored curb appeal to our home. I appreciate the performance and simplicity they brought to routine yard tasks.

Battery-powered tools are easy to use: pull the trigger and they start. That convenience removes the frustration of gas engines that won’t start and makes spontaneous cleanup—like clearing the patio with a blower—far more likely. Using these tools is enjoyable, and that makes maintaining the yard less of a chore.

The Tour

During the visit, Greenworks guided groups through five stations, offering an in-depth look at the company’s culture, design, manufacturing, and testing processes. The tour provided practical insight into how these tools are developed and refined before reaching consumers.

Battery Tech

The Greenworks 60‑volt battery platform is well suited to homeowners. These batteries deliver enough power for demanding jobs while remaining accessible in price, so homeowners who use them less frequently still get real value.

Battery technology keeps improving: newer 60‑volt packs use smaller, more powerful cells. Importantly, Greenworks has maintained backwards compatibility, so existing 60‑volt tools and batteries still work together even as the company updates its battery technology.

Tool Refinements

Greenworks has expanded the 60‑volt lineup with items like a cordless fan, a 300‑watt AC inverter, and an LED work light. Many of the most meaningful changes are refinements: stronger blowers and chainsaws, updated lawn mower controls and handles, and ergonomic improvements across the range.

These updates boost performance and give many tools a cleaner, more user-friendly design intended to improve everyday use and efficiency.

Greenworks in 2020 and Beyond

Lowe’s expects Greenworks to continue growing rapidly, and the company faces tough competition from brands like EGO and Ryobi. Based on what I saw at Mooresville, Greenworks’ team is prepared to compete: they appear committed to product performance, value, and standing behind their tools.
