Home security can be improved in many ways, but video surveillance remains one of the most effective deterrents. After testing several options, the Vosker V200 LTE wireless outdoor security camera stands out for its combination of durability, independence from Wi‑Fi and mains power, and practical features for remote monitoring.

Solar Powered and Wi‑Fi Free
The most notable feature of the Vosker V200 is that it needs neither AC power nor a Wi‑Fi connection to operate. This allows reliable deployment in remote locations where traditional power and internet access are not available. All the camera requires is an LTE mobile signal.

Because of this independence, the V200 is well suited to construction sites, vacation properties, rental homes, farms, and other rural settings where running power or Wi‑Fi would be impractical.
We installed the V200 to monitor our backyard, an area beyond the reach of our home Wi‑Fi. The built‑in solar panel eliminates the need for an extension cord and keeps the camera running continuously.

Using LTE connectivity, the camera can transmit photos to your phone and send mobile alerts. In Video mode, the V200 records Full HD 1080p video with audio to the SD card. It does not provide a livestream, so to review recorded video you need to access the SD card directly.
If you enable the Photo First option in the mobile app, the camera sends a photo to your phone for every recorded video. That way you can quickly decide whether a video is worth downloading and reviewing.
The V200 is built around a rechargeable battery pack supplemented by an integrated solar panel to extend runtime. You do need to charge the battery pack with AC power before first use, after which the solar panel maintains charge during normal operation.
Other power options include eight AA batteries or an optional 12V external battery pack for even greater flexibility in the field.
Easy Setup
Setting up the Vosker V200 is straightforward: install the included preactivated SIM card, insert an SD card, and attach the mounting bracket or strap. Initial charging for about 48 hours is recommended before first use and after long storage to ensure the battery is fully conditioned.

Vosker includes a free starter plan that covers 100 photos per month, and they also offer a 30‑day trial for unlimited use. Plan details are available from the manufacturer.
Durable and Weather Resistant
The Vosker V200 is robustly constructed and feels built to last. Its solid, all‑black exterior is deliberately visible to act as a deterrent, while the internal design resists harsh conditions rather than being a delicate gadget.

We mounted ours to a fence using the supplied strap. From that elevated position it captures anyone approaching the property and serves as a clear visual warning to would‑be intruders.
Built for outdoor use, the V200 carries an IP65 rating, meaning it is dust tight and protected against water projected from a nozzle — more than adequate for heavy rain. It also operates across a wide temperature range, from 104°F down to -40°F, making it suitable for extreme climates.

Smart Detection
One common frustration with security cameras is frequent false alerts from small animals or moving vegetation. The Vosker V200 addresses this with its AI‑driven Vosker Sense, which analyzes images to distinguish humans and vehicles from other motion.
In our yard, where birds and wildlife are common, Vosker Sense reduces unnecessary alerts by prioritizing activity that matters — people and cars — so you receive fewer false positives and more meaningful notifications.
The App
After setup, the Vosker smartphone app becomes your control center. The app lets you change modes, adjust sensitivity, set video length, and manage cellular transmissions. We use Photo First to receive instant photo alerts when a person is detected, followed by a short video saved to the SD card.

The app’s status screen provides a quick overview of camera health, power level, and SD card capacity. Any issues that require attention are flagged for review so you can address them promptly.

The photo gallery displays recent captures so you can quickly scan through events. With Photo First enabled, the camera sends images that accompany each recorded 10‑second video, giving you fast context whether it’s day or night.

We originally tested the V200 on our patio, where it recorded clear photos and video, then moved it to the backyard for long‑term monitoring. So far we’ve had no suspicious activity to review, but the system remains ready and reliable.

Two‑Year Warranty
Vosker is headquartered in Quebec, Canada, and each V200 comes with a two‑year warranty. That warranty underscores the company’s confidence in their product quality and provides buyers with additional peace of mind.
The Vosker V200 is available from select retailers and directly from the manufacturer. The camera’s suggested retail price is $549.99.
