ReadyMade: Celebrating Our Top 100 Finalist Achievement

A few months ago we built a stackable, sturdy sawhorse project. After painting the sawhorses gold, we entered them in the ReadyMade 100 contest. We were thrilled to learn a few days ago that our project was selected as a finalist and appears in the April/May 2011 issue of ReadyMade magazine.
ReadyMade also published an interview featuring me; I’m quick to acknowledge Laura’s help on this project—she played an important role in getting everything done.
We’re honored by the praise from ReadyMade’s editor-in-chief, Andrew Wagner, who noted that “The stackable sawhorse is a great idea for any small space; add a little gold to the equation and this is a winner all the way around.”
The top prize went to Tess Wolfe-Stelzer for her literary lamps, which appear on the magazine cover. Among other standout finalists were Shelly Leer’s upholstered spool ottoman, Tiffany Zachry and Laura Seaman’s shim wall, Robert Niosi’s vintage fan light, and Sofie Sausser’s cement planters—each project showcased clever design and thoughtful craftsmanship.
