Tryouts have concluded and HGTV has announced 20 finalists for the new series All American Handyman.

These 20 skilled individuals, representing communities across the United States, will compete for the title of “All American Handyman.” Hosted by Molly Culver, the series aims to find the nation’s best handyman or handywoman—someone with practical skill, integrity, and the ability to impress an expert panel.

Contestants will perform hands-on challenges while being evaluated by HGTV’s celebrity judges, including Mike Holmes of Holmes on Homes and Scott McGillivray of Income Property, along with a rotating secret judge each week. The format pushes competitors to demonstrate a wide range of trade skills under time pressure and scrutiny, highlighting craftsmanship, problem solving, safety, and attention to detail.

Although all 20 finalists have earned their place in the competition, only one will be crowned All American Handyman. The winner will receive a $10,000 Sears prize package and an HGTV development deal, offering both cash value and a platform to expand a professional profile.

Coverage of the series will include follow-ups and interviews with contestants to learn more about their experiences on the show, the challenges they faced, and how participating has impacted their careers. The show gives viewers not only entertainment but also practical insight into real-world repair, remodeling, and renovation techniques.

All American Handyman premieres Sunday, September 5, at 9/8c on HGTV.
