The 2023 Ford Bronco DR – Desert Racer is Ford’s first limited-edition, factory-produced desert racing truck, built to tackle events like the Baja 1000 and the Mint 400 straight from the showroom.
The return of the Ford Bronco has been one of the most eagerly awaited automotive launches of recent years. While the lineup includes several trim levels and configurations, none were purpose-built for sustained high-speed desert competition—until the Bronco DR arrived.

- Built from the factory to withstand the rigors of SCORE Baja 1000-style desert racing, the Bronco DR blends Ford Performance engineering with Multimatic suspension design and race-oriented craftsmanship.
- Based on the 2022 Bronco four-door frame, the Bronco DR adds a range of specialized body and chassis modifications for high-speed off-road durability and control. It is aimed to be the most powerful production Bronco to date, featuring a Coyote 5.0-liter V8 targeted at over 400 horsepower, Multimatic positional-selective DSSV™ dampers and a full safety cage.
- A limited initial run of 50 units pays tribute to Bronco’s racing legacy and the brand’s historic 1969 Baja 1000 victory—the only 4×4 to win outright—while offering enthusiasts a rare, race-ready vehicle straight from the factory.
