The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market returned this year with fresh energy and a clear focus on innovation and outdoor stewardship. Beyond impressive new gear across multiple categories, many brands showcased strong social and environmental missions—companies actively positioning themselves as caretakers of the outdoors. That public commitment to conservation and responsible business practices is notable and encouraging.
We saw many exciting releases, and below are the standout products that impressed us most.
Peak Design Travel Tripod
Peak Design’s Travel Tripod aims to be the most packable, portable, and fast-to-deploy tripod available. Its legs nest tightly to create a packed diameter of just 2.5 inches—comparable to a modern water bottle—yet it extends to more than 62 inches for full-length use. The tripod uses non-inverted legs and an aligned cam-lever locking system that allows rapid deployment with three quick motions. The head features a single dial for smooth 360-degree rotation and secure locking, while Peak Design’s quick-release top plate makes camera attachment nearly instantaneous. This design balances professional performance with exceptional portability for travel and outdoor photography.
Goal Zero Sherpa 100PD
The Sherpa 100PD is a more compact alternative to Goal Zero’s Sherpa 100AC, removing the AC outlet to save weight while still delivering strong charging capability. It includes a USB-C Power Delivery port, two USB-A ports, and a Qi wireless charging pad, enabling simultaneous charging of phones, tablets, laptops, and mirrorless camera batteries. The 60W USB-C input/output supports faster charging, and the unit’s compact dimensions—approximately 7.5 x 3.7 x 1 inches—and 1.4 lb weight make it convenient for travel, day trips, and even backpacking. Airline-approved and travel-ready, the Sherpa 100PD is designed for charging on planes and in airports. Available July 3 for $169.
Vasque Clarion ’88
The Vasque Clarion ’88 revisits classic 1980s hiking boot aesthetics while integrating modern materials and construction. It combines a suede upper with a Gore-Tex lining and a Vibram outsole for waterproof protection, breathability, traction, and durability. The result is a limited-edition boot that blends nostalgic styling with contemporary performance. Release date: August 15, 2019.
Intex Excursion Pro Kayak
The inflatable Intex Excursion Pro Kayak packs many features commonly found on higher-end boats into an accessible price point near $300. It offers adjustable seats, built-in footrests for comfort, and fishing rod holders on each side for hands-free angling. It deflates for compact transport and stows easily on a car roof or in a truck bed; even inflated, molded handles at the bow and stern make carrying across land or onto beaches straightforward. For casual paddlers and anglers looking for convenience and affordability, this model represents excellent value.
Zero Breeze Outdoor Portable Air Conditioner
Portable, battery-powered air conditioners like the Zero Breeze are vital for cooling tents and small shelters when shore power is unavailable. Designed to perform well in hot, humid conditions, this unit creates a more comfortable interior environment for camping, festivals, or remote setups where mains power isn’t an option.
Leatherman P-Series
Leatherman introduced the first entries in its Free series of multi-tools: the P2 and P4 plier-based models are available now, with additional Free tools scheduled for release later this summer. The Free series focuses on intuitive, one-handed access and smooth operation. After previewing the lineup earlier in the year, the Free P2 stands out as a strong candidate for everyday carry alongside classic models like the Wave and the lighter Skeletool.
Onewheel Pint
The Onewheel Pint is the brand’s newest, most affordable, and easiest-to-ride model. It reaches top speeds around 16 mph and delivers an estimated range of 6–8 miles per charge. Pricing starts at $950, and pre-orders were available with shipping scheduled in July.

Icemule Coolers
Icemule’s coolers feature welded seams and leak-proof zippers, making them fully waterproof and buoyant. The new GO Series introduces updated fabrics, improved insulation technology, and refined features that boost durability and comfort. Built for hands-free carrying and long days on the move, these soft coolers are aimed at adventurers who travel from city streets to mountain trails, coastal drives to camping trips.
Helle Kletten (EDC)
The Kletten is the most compact knife produced by Helle of Norway, a family-owned cutlery maker with an 87-year heritage. Designed as an heirloom-quality everyday-carry pocket knife, the Kletten was created to be passed down through generations. It weighs under 3 ounces and measures 3.1 inches closed, yet it does not sacrifice performance. The 2.1-inch drop-point blade uses Helle’s triple-laminated stainless steel and a Scandinavian flat grind to deliver a keen, durable edge in a very compact form factor.
