Today’s real estate market still favors buyers, but finding the right home can be challenging. Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest independently owned residential real estate firm in the United States, has introduced a solution to make the search easier: new iPhone and iPad apps designed to simplify mobile home shopping.

The free apps let users search listings anytime and anywhere from their handheld devices. Shoppers can search for nearby properties and refine results by property type, price range, number of bedrooms, and other essential features. Users can also enable notifications to be alerted when a property that matches their criteria becomes available on the market.

In addition to basic search functions, the apps allow users to save notes, photos, and videos for favorite listings. They provide neighborhood demographic information, including population characteristics, education levels, and average household income, as well as details about local schools—both public and private—helping buyers evaluate locations more thoroughly.

“Long & Foster has always demonstrated a commitment to being on the leading edge of technology and providing consumers with the tools they need to make informed real estate decisions,” said Jeffrey S. Detwiler, president and chief operating officer of The Long & Foster Companies. “Our iPhone and iPad apps were designed to pack maximum information into a user-friendly experience that includes valuable features to make on-the-go home shopping more streamlined and organized.”

When users find a property they like, the app makes it easy to contact a Long & Foster sales associate directly from the device. While the apps are currently available for Apple iPhone and iPad, Long & Foster is developing versions for other mobile platforms, including Android smartphones, to reach more users across devices.

These apps are aimed at giving buyers a more efficient, organized way to search, evaluate, and act on real estate opportunities—bringing detailed listing information and neighborhood insights to the palm of your hand.
