Fred Segal x Dickies Celebrate Los Angeles Collaboration

This summer brings an unexpected but welcome collaboration: Texas-born workwear brand Dickies has partnered with iconic Los Angeles boutique Fred Segal to launch the Fred Segal x Dickies “Loves LA” pop-up shop.

Open now through August 15, the pop-up is located at the Fred Segal flagship on Sunset Boulevard. Shoppers can browse and buy classic Dickies staples—such as the 874 Work Pant, Work Shirt, Coverall, Bib Overall and Eisenhower Jacket—alongside curated edits that highlight the brand’s durable, functional aesthetic.

What sets this pop-up apart is its focus on customization. Over the two-month installation, four Los Angeles-based artists and makers will rotate through the space, offering on-site personalization for selected Dickies pieces—bringing a fresh, local touch to the brand’s timeless workwear silhouettes.

Featured collaborators include streetwear labels Homegrown and Carrots, each offering modern takes on workwear, fine artist Sofia Enriquez with retro pop-art illustrations inspired by Fred Segal’s 1961 founding, and Dr. Collectors bringing patchwork heritage techniques that nod to Dickies’ 1922 origins.

I visited the pop-up with my wife, Laura Dahl, who previously sold a collection at Fred Segal and always praised the store’s cachet. During our visit we selected a Dickies coverall and a pair of 874 work pants, along with a chore coat from the brand’s 1922 collection that updates classic Dickies logos and heritage details for a contemporary wardrobe.

Dickies continues to expand its cultural reach with several recent launches, including a collaboration with professional skateboarder Jamie Foy and a “Uniquely Yours” collection celebrating Pride and LGBTQ+ communities—moves that underscore the brand’s blend of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary cultural relevance.
