NISMO, Nissan’s performance division, has unveiled a new range of off-road parts that will make their public debut at this year’s Rebelle Rally.
The Rebelle Rally is an ideal venue to introduce rugged off-road equipment. This all-women navigation rally spans more than 2,000 kilometers across Nevada and California, beginning in Lake Tahoe and finishing at Glamis. Competitors navigate using GPS, compass and traditional navigation tools while tackling varied terrain and a series of challenges.
Nissan will sponsor Team Wild Grace, which will compete in a 2020 Nissan Frontier outfitted with several NISMO upgrades: a NISMO/Bilstein suspension kit, a heavy-duty off-road bumper, NISMO/Rigid off-road lighting and NISMO off-road wheels. Together these components transform the Frontier into a capable, well-integrated Nissan-branded off-roader.
Nissan is the only OEM to have continuously sponsored a team since the Rebelle Rally began five years ago. Team Wild Grace co-captains Sedona Blinson and Lyn Woodward aim to better their past results with the enhanced 2020 Frontier, benefitting from an improved drivetrain, a best-in-class 310-horsepower engine and the new NISMO accessories.
NISMO’s new off-road product line will be available later this year for a range of Nissan vehicles, including Frontier models from 2005–2020, TITAN models from 2016–2021 and Xterra models from 2005–2015. The components will also be offered for the upcoming next-generation Frontier. Customers will be able to purchase products through Nissan dealerships, select NISMO retailers or via the official NISMO parts storefront.
NISMO Off-Road Performance Suspension Kit
- Developed in partnership with Bilstein.
- Precisely tuned to handle the added weight of overlanding equipment such as camping gear, heavy-duty bumpers and larger tires.
- Monotube, gas-pressurized shocks use digressive valving to respond effectively across a range of challenging off-road conditions.
- Front and rear shocks allow for increased wheel travel; the rear shocks include remote reservoir technology to maintain consistent performance under demanding loads and temperatures.
- The system can provide up to a 2-inch lift over stock ride height.
NISMO Off-Road Bumper
- First in a planned series of off-road bumpers for Nissan trucks and SUVs.
- Constructed from high-tensile steel and finished with a durable textured powder coat for corrosion resistance and long life.
- Laser cut, formed and welded with precision to deliver strength and durability in demanding off-road use.
- Weighs approximately 105 lbs, offering a balance of protection and manageable mass.
- Includes dual attachment points for recovery shackles, provisions for auxiliary lighting and is winch-capable with convenient access to winch controls.
NISMO Off-Road Lighting
- A new LED lighting line developed in collaboration with Rigid Industries.
- The lineup includes pod lamps (round and square) and light bars in various lengths and beam patterns to suit different off-road needs.
- The initial offering features 6-inch round driving lamps with durable aluminum housings, white accent backlighting and an output around 8,600 lumens.
- Each light kit includes installation instructions, wiring harness, switch and NISMO-branded protective covers for the lenses.
NISMO Off-Road Wheels
- Custom-designed and manufactured exclusively for NISMO.
- Dimensions: 17 x 7.5 inches; Bolt pattern: 6 x 114.3; Backspacing: +30 mm.
- Load rated at 1,950 lbs, exceeding typical factory OEM specifications for greater durability under heavy loads.
- Finished in Axis Gray with a NISMO center cap for a cohesive appearance.
- Designed and validated to meet SAE J2530 standards for aftermarket wheels.
These NISMO components aim to provide serious off-road capability while preserving OEM fitment and finish. Showcasing and testing new products at events like the Rebelle Rally helps ensure real-world validation and exposure to dedicated off-road drivers.
