Looking for an ideal gift for the outdoorsman, hunter, or camper in your life? Consider a custom Gerber knife. Gerber has launched a new custom shop that lets customers design unique, USA-made knives by selecting blade styles, handle materials and patterns, and laser-engraved illustrations or text.
The custom shop includes several of Gerber’s most popular models. Built in Portland, Oregon, the selection initially features the Fastball, StrongArm, Sharkbelly, and US-1. These knives can be tailored using a versatile library of lasermarks, handle materials and finishes, patterns, and blade shapes to create a distinctive, functional tool.
“Pocket knives are personal items—many of us carry them every day, so craftsmanship and utility matter,” said Todd Bischoff, Creative Director at Gerber. “Gerber Custom lets users participate in the creation process, combining the precise engineering and trusted quality of our bestsellers with a personalized aesthetic.”
Customers can choose between customization and personalization. Customization offers a wide array of options: combinations of handle materials, colors, patterns, and blade shapes, paired with hundreds of illustrations such as landscapes, military insignia, and depictions of flora and fauna. Personalization focuses on lasermarked illustrations and custom text in multiple font styles for a more individual touch.
Though the customization options are extensive, pricing reflects Gerber’s commitment to offering premium, highly functional tools at fair value. All customized and personalized knives are made, assembled, and lasermarked at Gerber’s Portland headquarters, ensuring quality control and American manufacturing standards.
Gerber Custom is available through Gerber’s official custom shop. Currently, the Fastball is offered for full customization, while the StrongArm, Sharkbelly, and US-1 can be personalized. Gerber plans to add additional models for customization and personalization later in the year.
