Thrive Furniture is doing exceptionally well. That was my main impression after touring their Los Angeles factory, where they design, manufacture, and ship every product.
Alex Del Toro, Thrive’s skilled online director and the person behind their polished website, led me on a comprehensive tour of the main factory and an additional workshop that produces Versa office furniture and Vanity Girl Hollywood pieces.
Every item is hand-built in their facility, and the operation clearly reflects that commitment. Sewing stations for fabric sit beside woodworking areas, which are adjacent to painting booths and upholstery stations. Over the past ten months they have already outgrown their current warehouse and are planning to expand. Demand has finally met their production capacity, which means they are temporarily scaling back some marketing efforts until they secure more space and staff. With that expansion, continued growth is likely.
It was encouraging to see how they’ve managed rapid growth while continuing to invest in customer experience. One notable investment is a machine dedicated primarily to cutting free fabric swatch samples—work that was previously done by hand. This kind of attention to customer needs demonstrates their focus on service, and it appears to be paying off.
