If you’re looking for artisan cabinet hardware, look no further than The Home Depot. Liberty Hardware is launching a special collection created by two American artisans: a glass artist from Michigan and a blacksmith from North Carolina.
The collection debuts on November 12 at two Manhattan Home Depot locations. Liberty Hardware plans to roll the line out to southeastern Home Depot stores later in the year and to add more artisans as the program grows. Representatives from Liberty Hardware and The Home Depot will be available at the Manhattan stores on launch day and invite local artisans to bring samples of their work for consideration as the program expands nationally.
The featured artisans are Matthew Waldrop, a blacksmith, and Tammy Newhof, a glass artist. They will appear at the following events:
Tammy Newhof at Home Depot, 40 West 23rd Street, New York — 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Matt Waldrop at Home Depot, 980 3rd Avenue, New York — 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This launch is notable because it pairs high-quality, handmade American craftsmanship with a widely accessible retailer more commonly associated with mass-produced goods. It offers homeowners and designers an opportunity to choose unique, crafted hardware—such as glass knobs and hand-forged metal pieces—while benefiting from The Home Depot’s broad distribution and convenient retail presence.
The partnership highlights a growing interest in artisanal home products and creates a platform for skilled makers to reach a larger audience. For shoppers, the collection presents an easy way to add distinctive, durable, and handcrafted details to cabinets, drawers, and furniture without sacrificing convenience.
