We recently attended SURFACES in Las Vegas and spent two and a half days immersed in the latest flooring innovations. This year the event ran alongside StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas, creating a combined showcase that highlighted both flooring and stone products. The pairing brought together designers, manufacturers, installers and homeowners exploring materials, tools and finishes across the industry.
Although many homeowners only replace flooring every eight to ten years, flooring is often the second largest home investment after the house itself. Because it represents a major purchase, selecting the right material requires planning, budgeting and research. To help narrow your options, we selected several standout products and new releases from this year’s show that balance performance, style and practical value.

Bliss carpet by Beaulieu
While hardwood, stone and tile often get the most publicity, soft surfaces like carpet still account for roughly 60 percent of flooring purchases. Beaulieu’s Bliss carpet line positions itself at the high end of that market, offering a variety of advanced features designed for busy households. Technologies such as Magic Fresh, which reduces common home odors, and Silver Release, an anti-microbial treatment that helps inhibit mold, mildew and bacteria that cause odors and stains, make Bliss a practical option for families and high-traffic spaces. The collection combines stain and odor resistance with attractive textures and color options, delivering both durability and visual appeal.

Cork flooring by Real Cork Floors
Cork remains a strong choice for homeowners seeking a sustainable, long-lasting floor covering. Harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without harming the tree, cork offers natural resilience, sound absorption and thermal comfort underfoot. Modern production techniques, including heat treatments and texturing, yield a wide range of looks and finishes that can suit many design schemes. The variety of colors and patterns makes cork suitable for bedrooms, living spaces and even kitchens, while its eco-friendly credentials appeal to environmentally conscious shoppers. HGTV designer vignettes at the show highlighted cork’s adaptability in contemporary interiors.

RotoZip XCORES high-speed tile hole saw
Drilling precise holes in hard materials such as porcelain, granite, marble, slate, ceramic and natural stone can be time-consuming. The RotoZip XCORES tile hole saw is engineered to cut through up to 3 cm of these materials quickly and efficiently without requiring water cooling. The product claims much faster cutting speeds and longer life compared with conventional tile hole saws, enabling installers and DIYers to complete tasks in minutes. Its speed and durability make it useful for plumbing penetrations, fixtures and other detailed tile work where clean, fast holes are needed.

New collections from Daltile
Tile remains an exceptionally versatile material, suitable for floors, walls and accents that transform a room’s character. Daltile introduced several notable new products that stood out at SURFACES:
- Del Monaco – A glazed porcelain collection inspired by travertine, offered in four colors for classic, elegant installations.
- Sandalo – A coordinated floor-and-wall system that integrates glass accents, varied colors and a comprehensive trim package for cohesive designs.
- Spark – Tile that replicates the texture of linen with a subtle, reflective shimmer that adds depth and softness to surfaces.
- Terrace – Porcelain plank tile designed to look like hardwood, complete with wood grain and knots. Terrace is built for spaces that need tile’s performance—like kitchens and laundry rooms—while capturing the aesthetic of real wood. Its narrow grout joints create a finish that closely resembles traditional wood flooring.
The new Daltile lines demonstrate how modern porcelain and ceramic technologies can mimic natural materials while offering the durability and low maintenance of tile.

SKIL Flooring Saw
Hardwood still commands attention for its timeless appeal and resale value, but installation can be labor-intensive. SKIL introduced a flooring saw that combines a miter saw and table saw into one portable, multifunction workstation, reducing setup time and increasing on-site flexibility. The saw is designed to make precise cuts for hardwood, laminate and engineered flooring, helping both professionals and skilled DIYers achieve clean, consistent results without hauling multiple bench tools to the job site. The integrated design speeds installation and improves accuracy, which can be especially helpful when dealing with intricate cuts or large projects.
In summary, SURFACES showcased a wide array of innovations across soft and hard surfaces: advanced carpet systems that resist odors and microbes, eco-friendly cork with improved finishes, power tools that accelerate tile and wood work, and tile collections that convincingly emulate natural stone and wood. Whether you’re planning a full renovation or a single-room update, today’s market offers more durable, attractive and practical flooring solutions than ever before—helping homeowners match performance to design goals while staying within budget.
