Chamberlain has made home automation accessible and practical for everyday use. The Chamberlain WiFi Garage Door Opener with Smartphone Control is a connected device that not only operates your garage door but also lets you manage it from anywhere using your phone. If you’re on the road and worry you may have left the door open, you can check the app in seconds. If your kids arrive home later than expected, the system can notify you immediately.
We’ve been using the Chamberlain MyQ garage add-on to give our existing garage door system smart features, and it has performed reliably. The app removes the uncertainty of whether we locked up: with a quick glance we can see if the garage is open or closed, and every activation triggers a notification so we always know when the door has been used.
The new WiFi opener is compatible with major smart home platforms, including Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, Google Nest, and the Wink app, making it easy to integrate into most home automation setups.
Installation was straightforward for us, and we appreciate having an exterior keypad for times when a smartphone isn’t handy. The physical keypad adds convenience and a simple backup access method.
The product is available at Home Depot, with typical retail pricing in the $250–$270 range.
