Using a cordless leaf blower is one of the most enjoyable ways to do yard work. There’s a real satisfaction in clearing away leaves and debris to reveal a tidy patio or lawn.
I’ve never been a fan of gas-powered outdoor tools. The power and runtime were attractive, but the mess, frequent maintenance, and fumes were a deal-breaker. Before recent advances, that left homeowners choosing between cumbersome corded tools or heavy, expensive battery models with limited performance.
Battery-powered outdoor equipment has now reached a true tipping point. Models from five years ago were heavier, less powerful, had short run times, and cost a premium. Today’s cordless tools are a different breed: lighter, more powerful, longer-lasting, and more affordable. Greenworks is one of the brands leading this shift. I visited their headquarters in Mooresville, NC—conveniently near Lowe’s regional offices, which are the exclusive retailer for many Greenworks products.
On that visit, I saw the new generation of 60V outdoor tools, and the improvements were obvious. The updated 60V self-propelled lawn mower is a substantial redesign compared to the previous model. In fact, when I recently visited a Lowe’s, both generations were displayed side by side, with the first-generation model still on sale while the newer version reflects major upgrades.
Those same engineering and design advances carry across the rest of the 60V lineup, including the updated leaf blower. The new blower delivers 610 CFM of airflow versus 540 CFM from the prior model, plus slightly longer runtime—about 50 minutes compared to 45 minutes before.
Our property is shaded by many trees that continually drop leaves, so we run a blower almost every day to keep the patio clear. If we don’t, the leaves inevitably end up in the pool, which strains the filtration system and complicates water chemistry maintenance.
With the Greenworks 60V blower, it only takes a few minutes to clear the patio—far less time and effort than skimming a full pool and cleaning filters.
The Greenworks 60V blower, bundled with a battery and charger, is currently sold at Lowe’s for around $170. It’s an attractive option for homeowners who want gas-level performance without the hassles that come with engines—cleaner, quieter, and easier to maintain while delivering strong airflow and practical runtime for everyday tasks.
