Danner Tektite Work Boot Review: Athletic-Style New Release

My Danner hiking boots are nearly 20 years old. Even though I don’t use them regularly, they’ve outlasted every pair I’ve owned. They handle far more terrain than I ever put them through, but their greatest strength is comfort — the most important quality for any boot you wear all day.
Danner has been crafting boots since 1932, and if you want a classic hiking or work boot, their lineup is excellent. They’re not relying on tradition alone, though. Recently Danner launched the Tektite series of work boots, aiming to define a new generation of work footwear.

The Tektite project focused on creating a durable work boot that fits like a sneaker. The result is the lightweight EXO platform paired with Superfabric, a material that is both abrasion resistant and highly breathable. The combination delivers strength without the bulk of traditional leather work boots.
Imagine a work boot with an athletic fit — the Tektite line brings a modern, progressive look to the category. The fit is comfortable, and the standout trait is how light the boots feel. Work footwear doesn’t have to be heavy or clumsy; even the safety-toe, ankle-height version felt surprisingly nimble. The low-top model is even lighter.
Superfabric is treated for water resistance and is backed by a Gore-Tex membrane, so the boots shed moisture while ventilating far better than conventional leather. That breathability makes them more comfortable for long days and variable conditions.
The outsole combines the look of a clear sneaker sole with the deep lugs of a work boot. It’s slip-resistant and non-marking, giving confident traction across different surfaces without scuffing floors.
