Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Workshop: Build Skills & Homes

Join us on Saturday, July 30th at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Torrance, CA for a hands-on workshop where I’ll demonstrate how to build sturdy, quick, and easy sawhorses. This session will cover the materials, tools, and step-by-step techniques needed to make practical sawhorses you can use for woodworking, home projects, or job-site tasks.

Bring a friend and stay after the workshop to browse the ReStore’s selection of donated materials, tools, and home goods—there’s always something useful or inspiring to find.

For detailed photos, a complete materials list, and full step-by-step instructions for these sawhorses, see the project guide here: How to Build DIY Gold Sawhorses. The guide walks through measuring and cutting the components, assembling the legs and top rail, and tips for reinforcing and finishing the sawhorses so they last through heavy use.

Whether you’re new to DIY or looking for an efficient sawhorse design to add to your workshop, this workshop is practical and accessible. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and take home a plan you can follow to build your own set of sawhorses.
