I’ve been searching for an overnight bag that can comfortably hold a change of clothes, a couple of books, and my laptop. That seems straightforward, but many duffels look like gym bags and backpacks, well, just scream “student.” I wanted something more refined and versatile.
Duluth Trading Company is one of those rare American-made brands born from practical need. Two tradesmen in Minnesota created a better utility bucket and went on to invent the “Bucket Boss.” Since then, Duluth has expanded into hundreds of products, including men’s and women’s outerwear, work boots, durable workwear, and even underwear—our favorite being the Free Range line.

What really caught my attention was their new Postmaster’s Tote. Its retro inspiration from postal mailbags is immediately apparent, yet the design feels current thanks to fire-hose cotton canvas and rich dark leather accents.

Beyond its good looks, the Postmaster is highly functional. It has a range of practical pockets both inside and out, and a top zipper that keeps your belongings secure. Heavy-duty brass hardware reinforces the bag and lends an industrial, masculine accent. The main compartment is roomy enough for a long weekend yet compact enough to qualify as carry-on luggage.

For me, this tote strikes an ideal balance between rugged durability and city-ready style. It travels well from a weekend at the ranch to a quick trip back to New York City.
Do you have a go-to bag? Is it a duffel, a backpack, or a rolling suitcase?
