Our love of coffee has led us to try many different brewers: Bodum vacuum pots, French presses, AeroPress, Bosch Tassimo, and even the Keurig Platinum single-serve system. Each method brings its own advantages and trade-offs, but recently the Keurig has become part of our daily routine because of its convenience and the wide variety of coffee and tea options it supports.
Recently, Keurig sent us their latest machine, the Keurig Vue System. This single-serve brewer operates on a similar principle to the K-Cup format, but Vue uses its own proprietary packs that are not compatible with standard K-Cups. The new system, however, expands what a single-serve brewer can do.
The Vue System adds several useful features: more brew sizes, temperature control, an iced coffee option, adjustable brew strength, and even a built-in cappuccino function. The integrated “Cafe” capability is the feature that really distinguishes Vue from earlier Keurig models.

At present, Vue packs are a bit more expensive and the available selection is smaller than the established K-Cup library. Still, as the format gains traction we expect manufacturers and roasters will add many more flavors and blends. The Vue packs are made from #5 polypropylene and are recyclable, which is a plus for environmentally conscious consumers.
We compared the Vue cappuccino to the one produced by our favorite single-serve cappuccino brewer, the Bosch Tassimo. The two were closely matched: the Vue’s cappuccino tasted slightly sweeter, while maintaining the strong coffee character we associate with Keurig brews.
Although we’re not ready to abandon our K-Cup collection, the Keurig Vue System represents a notable upgrade in flexibility and features. For anyone looking for a single-serve machine with more control over size, strength, and beverage variety—including a capable cappuccino option—the Vue is worth considering.
