Cases for iPads and iPhones are everywhere—even 3D-printed options are common—but if you want something distinct and beautifully made, DODOcase stands out.
DODOcase is the creator of the original book-bound iPad case. Based in San Francisco, the company blends modern technology with traditional craftsmanship: every product is handcrafted in their own bookbindery and woodshop. The result is an iPad case that feels and looks more like a finely made book than a typical tech accessory.
We used their online customizer to design a case for our iPad 3. The customizer lets you choose the exterior finish—solid color, chevron, square, or two-tone patterns—then pick an interior fabric with options ranging from solids to patterned or even map prints. For our build we chose a red exterior, brown binding, and a New York map interior. We also added a custom imprint: our startup name (PYXIE) and the founder’s initials.
After using the case for several weeks it consistently draws attention and sparks conversations at trade shows and meetings. It elevates our presentation and reflects the care we take in how we represent our brand.
Currently, DODOcase offers options for iPad Air and iPad models 1–4. They also produce cases for smartphones like the iPhone 4 and 5, as well as for devices such as the NEXUS 7 and Kindle. In addition to book-bound cases, you can buy sleeves and wallets designed to fit a variety of tablets, phones, and laptops.
