Milwaukee Tool manufactures the well-known Sawzall reciprocating saw, a staple demolition tool on job sites worldwide. However, even the best reciprocating saw is only as effective as the blade it uses. Recently, we visited Milwaukee’s manufacturing facility in Mississippi to see where their reciprocating saw blades are produced, including the impressive AX carbide-tooth blade.
Blades with carbide teeth last up to 30 times longer than standard bi-metal blades and cut up to twice as fast. That performance advantage often offsets the higher purchase price, since you spend less time swapping blades and more time working. The AX blade’s 5 TPI (teeth per inch) profile is designed to deliver rapid cutting in nail-embedded lumber and handle a wide variety of residential materials.
Milwaukee also highlights two key design features: Nail Guard and Fang Tip. These innovations help the blade engage and strip nails rather than damaging the teeth, and they improve plunge-cut performance for cleaner, more controlled starts. The AX carbide blade is tuned for cordless reciprocating saws, offering up to 25% more cuts per battery charge compared with other blade types.
