One-Step Fix for Patchy Lawn: Restore Grass Fast

A few months ago I visited the NexGen grass seed laboratory and the Pennington Seed factory in Oregon, where I learned practical lawn-care tips and got a hands-on demonstration of their 1 Step Complete mulch‑seed‑fertilizer blend. I was eager to try it on my own yard.
The results are in: our lawn looks better than it has in years.
Problem
After installing new sod, our yard developed thin, patchy areas from general neglect and dog urine. The new turf struggled to fill in, leaving noticeable bare spots and uneven growth.

Solution
The 1 Step Complete product was a good match for our needs: it combines seed, mulch and fertilizer to both fill bare patches and encourage the existing turf to thicken. Our backyard is small, so maximizing dense, healthy grass was the priority.

I applied the 1 Step Complete following the package directions and watered the treated areas twice a day. New grass began to appear within two weeks. Because the seedlings and roots are still delicate, I plan to wait at least another two months before mowing, allowing the turf to thicken and develop stronger roots.
The transformation is striking: a consistently green, fuller lawn has made our yard more inviting and usable. We’re looking forward to hosting our first summer picnic on a lawn that finally feels cared for and lush.
