Skilsaw expands its worm drive lineup with the 16-5/16-inch Magnesium Super Sawsquatch Worm Drive Saw. Combining worm-drive gearing, a 15-amp dual-field motor, and a purpose-built 16-5/16-inch, 32-tooth SKILSAW blade, the Super Sawsquatch is engineered to deliver high torque, sustained cutting power, and reliable performance for demanding jobsite tasks.
The saw’s all-magnesium construction and die-cast magnesium foot plate make it both durable and lightweight, improving portability without sacrificing strength. A blade-left design enhances cut-line visibility for right-handed users, and the saw’s balanced build promotes better control and greater accuracy compared with many beam saws on the market.
With a 6-1/4-inch maximum cutting capacity, the Super Sawsquatch can pass through most engineered lumber, 6x timbers, and common beams in a single cut. The tool features an electric brake to reduce downtime between cuts, and an auxiliary handle provides additional support for heavy or extended cuts. For convenient transport and storage, the saw ships with a dedicated stand.
SKILSAW’s worm drive family now spans several sizes to suit different applications, including 7-1/4-inch, 8-1/4-inch, 10-1/4-inch, and the new 16-5/16-inch models. The Super Sawsquatch is competitively priced at $699 and was slated to be available in March 2018.
