The first upgrade I made to my 100-series Land Cruiser was installing a Front Runner Slimline II roof rack. I’d used the same rack on my previous FJ62 Land Cruiser and found it to be an ideal match for the 100-series. Being able to move Front Runner accessories between vehicles is a major advantage.
Below is a curated list of my favorite Front Runner accessories—items I’ve relied on during road trips, overland adventures, and short outings to the beach or desert. Several of these accessories perform well even if you don’t have a Front Runner rack.
Pro Stainless Steel Camp Table Kit
A camp table is indispensable for primitive or dispersed campsites where amenities like picnic tables are rare. The Pro Stainless Steel Camp Table is slim, sturdy, and an excellent surface for meal prep and gear organization. The stainless steel top looks great and elevates the campsite setup.
Transporting camp tables can be awkward, but with Front Runner’s under-rack carrying kit you can slide the table beneath your rack and lock it in place for secure, simple transport.
MaxTrax Mounting Kit
Traction boards are essential for off-road travel—good MaxTrax or similar recovery boards can often free you from mud or sand without the need for a winch. The Front Runner Recovery Device Mounting Kit provides a tidy, secure way to carry these large, awkward boards outside the vehicle so they don’t consume interior space.
If you plan to keep your recovery boards mounted on the vehicle, use dedicated locking pins to prevent theft and ensure they stay put during rough travel.
Expander Camping Chair
A comfortable camping chair matters more than you might expect after long days on the trail. The Front Runner Expander Camping Chair balances portability and comfort and has proven useful well beyond the campsite. I opted for the 2.5 meter awning, which fits my 100-series Land Cruiser perfectly and gives ample covered space for relaxing and cooking.
Pro Water Tank
Carrying water is a basic but vital part of trip planning. The Front Runner Pro Water Tank offers a 20-liter capacity in a convenient, user-friendly format. Unlike heavy, awkward jerry cans, this tank can remain in place while you use a gravity-fed hose attached to a 1/2″ fitting, making water access simple and practical.
Good water storage can be a lifesaver on remote trips and is useful for everyday campsite needs or assisting fellow travelers.
