This is the third and final post in our three-part series about luxury vinyl flooring.

Luxury vinyl flooring isn’t new, but many homeowners still aren’t familiar with the advances seen in today’s products. Shaw’s Floorte line showcases the strengths of modern vinyl flooring: straightforward installation, strong water resistance, a wide range of styles and colors, and a cost that’s lower than many other flooring options.

After living with our new floors for a month, we like them more every day. Below are the benefits we’ve experienced—some we expected and a few that surprised us.

Before the install, our studio had old linoleum tiles that were peeling, stained, and impossible to clean. Replacing them with Shaw Floorte transformed the room quickly and cleanly. The installation process was smooth and efficient.

The hardest decision was choosing among the 69 available style and color combinations. We chose Mantua Plank in Elba—a neutral tone with a textured wood look that complements our white walls and adds visual interest to the room.

In our view, the floor often defines a room more than the wall color does. A well-chosen floor elicits reactions from visitors, while painted walls frequently go unnoticed. Once our office was put back together, we were genuinely surprised at how much the new flooring elevated the entire space. It made our furniture look better and gave the room a cohesive, finished feel.

Our studio layout is simple—two desks, two office chairs, and a side table—but the functional improvement is notable. Office chairs with casters glide across the Floorte surface with ease. The click-lock installation was straightforward and produced tight seams with no gaps or loose planks. As first-time installers, we were pleased with the professional-looking result.

After a month of daily use and frequent chair movement, the floor remains as solid as the day it was installed. Our studio gets a lot of foot and equipment traffic, yet the Floorte planks have not shifted or shown signs of wear from movement.

We also put the floor’s durability to the test. When a cabinet slipped during a move, we braced for a deep gouge. Instead, the surface showed only a tiny dimple that’s hardly noticeable without close inspection. That resilience matters for our space, where boxes, tools, and rolling equipment are a daily reality.

Overall, Shaw Floorte has proven to be an excellent choice for our studio. It combines the look of real wood with practical benefits—durability, ease of installation, and water resistance—at a reasonable price. We’re very happy with the result and hope this series has helped you understand what Shaw Floorte offers.
