Why We’ll Be Watching HGTV’d: The Network’s New Must-See Shift

In a few weeks, HGTV will premiere a new series titled “HGTV’d.” The concept is exciting: HGTV hosts will travel across the country—rolling up in a large, branded 18-wheeler—to surprise homeowners with on-the-spot makeovers.

Home makeover programs are a familiar part of television, but this show stands out for its spontaneous approach and for bringing multiple HGTV personalities together. By combining the strengths and distinctive styles of several hosts, each transformation can deliver tailored color palettes, design details, and aesthetics that suit the homeowners’ tastes.

“HGTV’d” focuses on spaces that often get neglected: living rooms, basements, and underused backyards. According to HGTV, these areas will be reimagined into one-of-a-kind spaces designed for both function and flair.

In the premiere episode, David Bromstad redesigns an ordinary living room into a sophisticated party-ready space—one that feels equally comfortable for relaxing and entertaining. The promotional clips already suggest the series will be rich with practical ideas viewers can adapt in their own homes.

“HGTV’d” premieres at 9:00 p.m. EST on June 6. We’ll share our thoughts after the premiere and invite readers to share theirs as well.
