We inherited an old wooden wagon a few years ago that looked good but didn’t hold up to heavy use. It finally broke after hauling sod, so we started searching for a durable utility cart that could handle tougher jobs. That search led us to the Garden and Farm Utility Cart from Ace Hardware.

Ace Hardware supplied this cart for our review, and although it’s available to order online, the unit arrived in a flat box and required some assembly. Putting it together took two wrenches and about half an hour — straightforward and well-documented.
Everything about this wagon feels solid. It’s rated for a 750 lb. load, and with its all-steel construction — including the wheels, axles, frame and enclosure — we don’t doubt that rating. The oversized pneumatic tires and a stout axle give the cart a stable platform, making it easy to pull and simple to steer even when loaded.

The cart includes a sliding steel tray that we found useful for transporting pots, plants, and other lighter items. The tray slides out easily when you need full access to the bed for larger loads like firewood, sandbags or stones.
All four sides fold down for easier loading and unloading of awkward or oversized items. If you prefer, the sides can be removed entirely using the attached cotter pins, turning the cart into an open bed for maximum flexibility.

On a lighter note, our two-year-old son loves riding in this cart — he seems to prefer it to his Radio Flyer — and it’s easy to see why. It’s sturdy, roomy, and feels like a mini adventure wagon for little ones (always with adult supervision when used this way).
You can find this Garden and Farm Utility Cart at your local Ace Hardware, or order it online through the Ace Hardware website.
We’re also excited to announce a new partnership with Ace Hardware. They’ve assembled a network of favorite bloggers, including us, to highlight useful products and share practical do-it-yourself projects that Ace Hardware can support.
